Tom Collins Gin botanicals, citrus fruit sweetness and a touch of sourness, bubbled up with soda water – the Tom Collins is one of the simplest long drinks, such a classic that it’s had a glass named after it. Instructions. In a cocktail shaker, combine the vodka, lemon juice, and simple syrup. Fill the shaker with ice and shake well until chilled. Strain the mixture over fresh ice in a Collins glass. Top with soda water, and give it a gentle stir to combine. Garnish with a lemon wheel or wedge and a maraschino cherry. Instructions. To make the simple syrup, place the sugar and water in a microwavable bowl or liquid measuring cup and heat on high for 60 seconds. Remove from microwave and stir until sugar is dissolved. Let cool. Place the first five ingredients in a large pitcher (gin through lemon juice) and stir well. RYtdwy4.
