Beware: Widespread Vanos failures in E46 M3s. My vanos failed two weeks ago on my 2006 E46 M3 with about 29k miles:thumbdwn:, literally on my way home from the dealer after having the service II performed a second time (after I caught the dealer not performing the work in the first service II:tsk. Now BMW NA is refusing to cover it under warranty.

TxZHP04. 5089 posts · Joined 2006. #2 · Dec 29, 2010 (Edited) If it's an actual vibration and the engine isn't missing (which might indicate a lean misfire or plug/coil issues - with no codes and occurrence within a narrow rpm range, sounds more like a true vibration) then it's either bad mounts or a crankshaft vibration.
